Dome / Map lights quit working
1999 Jaguar XK8 convert, I've checked all the fuses in the trunk and both passanger and driver side. I didn't check the ones with the "caps" on, Maybe airbags or something?? nor did I check under the hood? My manual says nothing about fuse locations and the JiTTS CD from Ebay only has the wiring diagrams and won't tell me the fuse number , or if it does, i don't understand it. I've been searching since last night all over the boards and internet for anything or the exact fuse location or maybe it's conected to a relay?? All my other lights seem to work fine, dash w/ dimer, glovebox, puddle, feet, just the two above my head with their own on off buttons quit working. If it's not a fuse does this connect somewhere through a Module??. Tonight I will check both bulbs just in case they both blew at the same time....maybe
Should I bother checking the engine fuse box? Is their one I missed?
Anybuddy know where this fuse is?? or have any other suggestions?
I also want to say thanks for all the other great info on this board:
I solved my hesitation and shake at warm up by replacing my MAFS and all codes flashing.
My tensioner and chains were replaced right after i heard the "clank clank clank"
The the water pump (plastic Impeller) thermostat replaced.
Had all the ball joints and Shock mounts redone and it lifted the front 2 inces and handles like new.
Ordered new mirror to replace the leaky fluid one I got.
All info i found here, So thank you
Thanks, Scott

If the glove box light, the two trunk lights, and the lights in the sun visors ( vanity lamps) all work, the problem is not a fuse. All have the same source... Other possibilities:
The printed circuit board overhead. It has 2 transistors and two diodes.
The cable. RF10-1 supplies Gnd, RF10-4 Fade, RF10-5 Power
If you want the wiring Diag. for your car, send me your E-maill Addr

Thanks!!! FIxed!!!!!
It turns out that the wire to the control mondule was knocked loose. I pluged it in and it worked. I probably knocked it a little loose when I replaced the auto diming rear view mirror. Probably just took awhile to work itself completly out and stop working. Oh and if you need to replace your mirror get one of the $75 + shipp replacement mirrors from Sybesma's Electronics (Dealer wanted a ton)
Thanks!

You forgot to mention that little tidbit in your OP... probably could have given you some better advice having known that. Glad you got it fixed up and illuminating your cockpit...I would miss my little amber light if it ever goes out.

Thanks! I'm a new member just cruising the posts. I am having trouble with the lights on my '97 XK8 since I replaced the mirror as well. I'll check the "loose wire" to see if it helps. By the way, the mirrors have a lifetime warranty and can be replaced FREE through Magna Donnelly of Holland, MI. I received a new one upon sending in my old mirror a year ago.
