Default Door Handle Escutcheons

The rubber that surrounds my 2006 XKR door handles is sticky and crumbling in some places. Anyone have a good lead on where to get oem or high quality replacements?

Repair it with black RTV.
Done carefully, it should be nearly seamless.

Interesting, Matt. I tried to buy them at the dealer and they don't sell them separately. You have to buy the entire door handle assembly if you want a new gasket. On my car I just took a razor knife and VERY CAREFULLY cut off the part that sticks out. I was going to put some black RTV in the gap, but after cutting off the crumbly bit I liked the way it looked without the black line around the door handle, so I just left it that way. The gasket is still there keeping the water out, it just doesn't stick out past the door handle bit any more.

Interesting...they must have made a change for the worse somewhere along the line....it seems like more people have this problem on the later model cars. My 2001 is just fine.

Thanks for the suggestions...Is the gasket sold by Welsh (which does not look as though it has the raised lip surround) meant to be the replacement for the part I am talking about? Will the lip or bead that I see somehow pop up when tight?

You must be right! My 01 XKR seal is still soft and pliable.
