door key top activate

Is the door key top activation optional or standard? Turning my door key counter clockwise does nothing. 2000XK8

It is standard. You need to turn it hard past the stop, it is spring loaded.

My remote top kit makes use of the electronics behind this feature, which is in all of the cars.
