I need a new right-side door latch on my 2000MY XKR, and the official part I need is GJA1080FK.

Would I be able to use a GJA1080FG door latch as a replacement? It looks exactly the same to me as the "FK", and the ones I see for sale online are in better condition than the ones with my part number. They come from very similar XKRs/XK8s, and I thought it might just be the trim that's different.

And if the "FG" is in fact newer technology, would it still be interchangable?

 

Even the GJA1080FJ (latest part number) on my JEPC 2009 is superseded so I would guess that ANY GJA1080** part number is superseded to GJA1080FK.

Seems 1997 to 2006 XK are ultimately GJA1080FK.

 

Is one potentially better/newer than the other? Trying to figure out my best option... my latches have broken twice now in different ways. Very expensive to fix.
