I have a 99 xk8 convertible 103,000 miles. It finally got warm enough here in Michigan to get the Jaguar out of the garage. But as would be expected from anything British, it worked fine when I put it away but now it has elctrical problems. The passenger door does not unlock or lock automatically with the driver's side. I think it may have worked the other day but I can't really say for sure since I didn't have a passenger. I may just not have noticed. I kept it on a battery tender throughout the winter and I have almost 13 volts at rest. The other issue is that the window does not come down a bit automatically when I put the top down. I just roll the windows down first but it would be nice if it worked properly. Thanks for the forum it is great.

 

try a hard reset first, just to reboot all the modules. Those odd behaviors are often cured by doing just that. negative cable off of the battery, touch the positive termina for a couple seconds to discharge the capacitors... reprogram your windows.

 

Problem solved. The windows even go down a bit when lowering the top. Thanks a lot. I love when it only takes two minutes and no money to fix things.

 

Just think how many people would have taken their cars to the dealer for this problem. This website is awesome!
