Driver Seat Memory

Driver Seat Memory
No big deal but does anyone else get this?
I get in car turn on ignition and the steering wheel remembers its last position and moves nicely into position......... about 70% of time.
The rest (30%) it kinds of tries then gives up 1/2 way!
It's not battery as I have a new one.

Had the identical problem and here's what works for me. No electrical repairs required. May or may not work for you.
Since I am the only driver of my 2001 XKR, I set memory position "1" to my preferred seat and steering wheel position. Memory position "2" is set with the seat all the way back and the steering wheel all the way up. This allows my 70 year old body to exit and enter the car with ease.
When I arrive at my destination I press "2" before shutting off the engine and removing the key. When I restart the car I press "1" and away I go! Works every time.
I'd like to take credit for this, but I read it in another post last year.
Cheers,
Stu

The lowest motor ( tilt ) has a position sensor that drags the motor down to the point that it stops . You can pop this sensor off without removing the motor and clean the thick grease out . The sensor and motor have to be clocked correctly . You can use a battery charger on the motors power tabs and move it to clock . High current arc hazard .
There was a TSB on putting in a stronger motor as is the same problem in X100 , X300 , and X308
See post # 11 for clocking :
