MJ, check fuse #20 in your left hand heelboard fuse box. IT is possible that the fuse is blown and as long as you have power from the switchable source, it is enough to drive the module and the seat, but because power goes away after turn off the car, the module will loose all of its presets. After that, I would be leaning towards a problem with the seat module itself. But, I am not an expert on this car and there could be some other things that others will recommend before replacing the module.

Seat motor position potentiometers. Common. Labor intensive. Not for amatuers for sure. That is my first choice in an over the net diagnosis.

Default Bigger Issue

I have a friend with an XJ8. His driver seat moved back, reclined to the maximum position and will not move from that position. He has not been able to drive the car as a result. I first suggested a re-boot but to no avail. Next I suggested he try swapping the modules, but I don't think he has tackled that yet. Has anyone heard of this one before?

I guess his other option is to purchase a periscope for driving while fully reclined... HA HA!

Hi just wondering what is meant by the left hand heel board? I found a #20 fuse in my trunk fuse box next to the battery (Good shape) Seat moves without key in ignition.

Thanks

Tried the hard reset, no luck.

Not sure where that 20amp fuse is.

Where is the seat memory module located?
