Default Drivers door window out of sync on convertible

My 97 xk8 convertible drivers window is out of sync when I pull on my door handles. The window no longer goes up or down automatically, help.

Have you tried the reset? With key in ignition position I or II, run window down and keep holding the switch for a few seconds until you hear a click. Then run it all the way up and keep holding the switch for a few seconds until you hear the click.

Check the battery also, the window is one of the first signs of it going south.

No auto drop/lift movement can be Door Module fault or microswitch failure in the Door Latch.

Thanks I will first try the reset then if necessary disconnect the battery and discharge any capacitors in the system. If that does not work I will remove the door panel and locate the microswitch and door module. Any chance you might know where I might find part numbers for these two items and how can I test them?

See this thread starting at post 6 for the micro switch replacement.

Thanks for this hint. I just joined, and was searching posts because my 2002 XK8 windows were not operating properly after a battery change. I thought I had reset them, per the operator's manual, but missed the "click". Resetting again, this time with a "click", solved the problem. Thanks!
