drivers seat belt
the drivers seat belt on my xkr dosnt go back into it retaining hole..the return spring has gone weak..can it be fixed? as it tends to get caught in the door on exit..any help would be good..just to add its goes back if you help it
That's a good question. Mine is slightly weak. Usually it gets twisted slightly and then binds before it can retract. This might be another project for me to work on. I'm sure there has to be a way to tighten the spring.
I think it's just one of those things that people don't even think about. Before you mentioned it I hadn't even noticed that mine was a little weak. But now it's going to bug me until I fix it. Thanks.
A common cause of weak return on seatbelts is that the belt has twisted on the takeup spool.
To fix it you may be able to unwind the belt and then feed it back in straight. If that does not work, then the retractor has to be accessed.

Mine's the same way, it retracts but is week and I generally need to help it. This is also true for my X-Type. Would be interested in a fix.

it is really easy to pull that trim panel and observe that seat belt, at least with the verts. The rear seat is only held in by those two bolts in front, and under the cushion near the footwells. Side panels take a few more screws/bolts, but thats it. there it is right there!!
