Default Driver's side airbag light on

Well, actually there's a good reason , it’s that I've taken the stock seat out and replaced it with a Recaro, what a transformation! But back to the problem that resulted from this, in taking the seat out I disconnected the big yellow, multi pin connector as well as the small 2 conductor connector. I jumpered the later with a 2.7 ohm resistor and thought that would do it, but alas, the airbag light comes on steady. One of the local indy shops thought the absence of a seatbelt receptacle with its attendant wiring is the cause and he offered to sell me a used buckle receptacle with its wiring. The question then is this, how do I wire this directly (pin outs) to the floorboard connector that the original seat connected to? And in doing this, will that satisfy the seat airbag circuit that seems to be complaining?

There's more then one SRS sensor located in the seat. Seat belt receptacle, side air bag (in the seat), and hall sensor in the seat rail. Its gong to take some more fancy electrical mods to fool the SRS module that you've got everything that's supposed to be there.

For all the wires, connectors and such, you'll need the electrical schematic from the JTIS CD. Its where you'll need to start.

I've tried to follow the schematic but there are too many routes I don't understand. I thought there was only one hall effect, the one in the seat belt receptacle, so that's the one I'd like to wire into the multi pin yellow connector on the floorboard. As I indicated., I've jumpered the airbag connector on the floorboard, but was hoping for some insight to the 5 conductors coming out of the seat belt receptacle, do all need connection and to what pins or is there more to it than that?

First of all what year is your car?

Your profile says '97, the picture and your connector description looks like a later model. The SRS system changed a lot over the years.

I'll get the profile corrected, it's an '03 XKR, replaced the '97 XK8
