Default Drivers side Roundel went missing!

The car wash ate the green oval leaper roundel insert on my 2000 XK8. Not the chrome backing plate, just the green insert.

Any idea as where to find a replacement?

Thanks!

(And thank goodness for small problems!)

Scott

Roundel sounds like BMW language - LOL!

Try Ebay, I see them all the time there. Remove the old chrome part, replace the entire "Oval roundel".

Actually, you're right - I saw the term yesterday in a BMW motorcycle review and was trying to sound suave and sophisticated here.

In the drain of that car wash. Sorry I couldn't stop my fingers. One should hand wash such a fine machine!

I lost mine too. E-bay...cheap and a perfect match. I searched for "Xk8 rim center cap" or some such thing...

I know its not always possible Spurlee, but I have to agree with greenjewel. The dange done from these places can run $$$ on paintwork issues alone. Thousands of tiny scratches etched into your paintwork causing it to look flat and lifeless. Handwash is best if you can buddy

Well, I would agree about the hand wash but my girlfriend gets such nice compliments about the car that she likes it clean all the time.

The current listing on Ebay is for lighted/turn signal emblems. Could be cool. $40. Don't see anything right now for a non-lighted version...

Well it's time she gets out there and gives it a nice wash!!

I'm sure that'll go over big huh?

My 2000 XK8 previous owner ran it through car washes and it took me a LONG time and a LOT of work to get the clear coat back in shape and after a year I''m sill working on areas. Those machines really beat your car. Too bad there isn't a hand wash car wash in your area. They cost more but the people don't beat your paint.
