Default DSC System Fault Warning

I have a 2006 XK8. The DSC sytem fault warning has been appearing intermittently. Took car to my mechanic and he got code B2736.

He said replacing the Pedal Travel Sensor would alleviate the problem. Cost: About $400 total. However, he also said this part does nothing to affect performance. Replacing it would stop the warning light from coming on & that's it.

Anyone have experience with this?

Does Jaguar really have such a part that does nothing but cause an annoying light to come on when it stops working?

My experience so far is that Jaguar has a bunch of parts that cause an annoying light to come on.

Thanks. But I could not download this doc. Maybe I'm too new and need more posts.

I'll try to find it elsewhere online. Would really like to read it.

Just go to the off topic forum and reply to a few random posts. Or take some pictures of yourself and post them in the "girls on cars" thread.

Okay. Got it Reverend Sam. This forum is great. I could spend some time here anyhow. This is my 3rd XK8 and I'm just finding this forum. Sad I know.

I did find it on ebay. I'm going to order a full manual. I need to know more what's going on before I really run into problems. Hate to be uninformed.

I consider myself lucky I never had a major problem with any of the Jags. Unless I count the 1st one in 1997 when I was driving on the turnpike and the "Engine Failure" warning light came on. Had the car for just 2 weeks. Luckily, after 10 minutes, it started and I drove to the dealer. They fixed it and I don't even recall what the problem was. Might not be so lucky though at 50k miles.
