Are you positive it's a C1637 and not a P1637?

yes. I even double checked . just took her for a drive showing engine light , dash says track not available and ASC not available along with the Abs light. I'm assuming that the Asc is the cruise control because that's not working .

Start by ensuring the battery is fully charged then try again.

According to the Jaguar DTC Summaries, C1637 is not an assigned error code for the 2002MY XK8.

thanks Graham , I just checked with the mechanic who owns the snap on scaner and he said it was a c1637. He headed to his garage to look it up .he told me thats what it was showing. He'll call me back and I'll let you know.

all right here the deal ,it was showing a P1637 before he cleared the engine codes ,an then going thru the hole system, he found code C1137 which pretty much says the same thing . ( no can signal from ABS module) what ever that means. I can only guess that my Abs module has taken a crap! Now the question is, where the best place to get a repop?

your right , had a p1637 cleared it out then it was showing a new code C1137. Pretty much the same thing! ABS Module is shot. Now where's the best place to get a repop?

Hi Doug,

It's probably just dodgy solder joints in the ABS module. You can get it rebuilt in a couple of weeks or less. Way cheaper than trying to source a new one.
