E10 fuel in the UK in my XKR?
THey are pushing out E10 fuel in the UK soon, will it work OK in my X100 4.2 XKR or should I go to premium? Regardless this is a stupid decision by the government for classic car owners and owners of older cars.

Perhaps the mods could make this a sticky as this no doubt will be a question increasingly asked.

There are a myriad of related issues other than just the E10. Over here, our E10 is predominantly 94 or 95 octane, with premium at 98, whereas I am aware that in many locations, it barely, if ever surpasses 90. Jaguar are among the majority of manufacturers who have been producing E10-friendly guzzlers for well over a decade. All of our cars run happily on our E10 but, with most not daily drives, we choose to run all the high performers on premium. We do so to prevent any "lacquering" that may be attributed to very seldom use that could arise from "stale" fuel. So, the second "yes" (it will work) is offset by "what are you saving" and only you and your budget can answer that.
As to your final comment . . . well, cars aside (and I love 'em), I am one of the millions who are really concerned with what my children and grandchildren get to breathe, let alone the global warming that has seen our country and many others, ravaged by bushfires, floods and rising seawaters in recent years. Not preaching here, just respecting that there will be many differing opinions to what you see as "stupid".
Cheers,
I don't do many miles so will stick with premium. Only the best for my cat!
The problem is that premium fuel will remain E5 so I expect those prices to increase instantly. Testament to our governments lasting consideration of classic car owners....

No need to worry. I bought my X100 XKR in 2015. Store in during winter and release her in spring. So, 6 mnoth use and 6 months not used at all. Never head any trouble with the E10 95ron. People are so worrying in the UK about the change to E10. They never seem to understand that the rest of Europe is driving around in cars using E10 for 10 years now. No one wants to listen to EU experience with the stuff. And Yeas, we have classic cars too. My XKR is happy when i use E10. My XJ6C won't have it. She only wants E5.
