Easy First Brake Job - Thanks to the Forum
Just replaced the front rotors and pads on my '02 XKR (all while my Grizzlies were being owned by the LA Floppers, er, Clippers) on Sunday. The process could have hardly been easier thanks to this thread in the XK8 & XKR FAQ. Well, it didn't hurt that the guy helping me races and works on Porsche's and has a full hydraulic car lift. But, the guide in the FAQ took out all of the guesswork. So, new rotors and EBC Reds in just over an hour. Thanks!

I'm pleased the FAQ proved a good source for you, though I maintain the thread itself and update whenever qualified information presents itself, the members around here do all the hard work and document their projects for everyone else to follow. If you ever have anything to contribute, if its not on the FAQ already, feel free to contact me for appropriate guidance.
Having the hydraulic lift was a great benefit in that it got us up off ours knees. Otherwise, the directions in the FAQ were all that was needed.
One note... the two bolts (15 mm and 17 mm) that hold the caliper in place are, indeed, VERY tight. The guide mentioned using a 2x4 for leverage. Instead, we slipped a 3' section of steel pipe over the end of the ratchet handle for leverage. I went to the other side of the car and turned the tire so that the rear side of the caliper we were working on was facing out from the car. This gave us the best access to the bolts.

Shoes had totally delaminated, linings fell right out when the drums were removed, so i think I'll give the cheap shoes a miss, and pay for some decent ones........
