ECU Swap?
I'm chasing down some relatively minor electrical issues, one of which is an intermittent failure for the TCM and ECU to communicate. This is not causing issues, but I'm ruling out stuff nonetheless. I have a new (salvage) ECU coming in, same part #, same year, XKR. Is it a simple swap over or do I need to worry about programming?
You will need to do the immobiliser setup in WDS/IDS unless your car is one of the few that doesn't have a chip in the keys. I think you can do this in some of the aftermarket scanners also, if you don't have Jaguar's version.
No harm in swapping and seeing if the car starts though.
