Default Electrical issue

Hi,

I have recently purchased a 2003 XKR Convertible and I am having some electrical related issues.

1. Driver and Passenger windows operate very slowly, they go down as normal but really struggle to close.

2. Driver and Passenger windows drop intermittently on opening the doors. I’ve tried the reset window procedure, this worked for a few days but now it doesn’t.

3. Passenger door lock doesn’t disengage.

4. Central locking doesn’t work from the fob.

5. The roof doesn’t open, on pressing the button the quarter windows drop and it beeps, then nothing.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums StewRyder,

I've moved your question from X150 forum for the 2006-2014 XKR to X100 forum for the 1996-2006 model. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

I might be able to offer a little on a couple things; What's your standing battery voltage, not running? What is your alternator putting out when running?

For the fob, I think it's common to find these gummed up inside, might crack it apart and take a look between the rubber buttons and the PCB, clean with alcohol if it's grimy. At least, that fixed all my buttons. If none of the buttons work, you might also try the headlight flash FOB procedure described elsewhere.

Sorry, forgot to add, on the roof open/close there could be many possible causes. I would first check the reservoir level in the pump assembly, and verify it is near the top line when down, bottom line when up.

Also make sure the valve is closed.
