Default emergency hood release

Does anyone make an emergency hood release or have info on how to do this?
I have older corvettes, and this is an issue that we have with those cars.
I really don't want to be locked out of my XK8. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dennis

Thanks for the interest and the quick link to the trunk release.

I did a poll that turned out to be a flop for the most part a few years ago concerning this. I fashioned emergency mechanical cable releases for the boot and both bonnet latches. (sure beats busting out a tail lamp unit, putting a hole behind the license plate, or a hole through each front fender liner)
Here is a link to my old poll: (there are good comments from fellow members)

To the general forum members,
So, I read through the entire thread on the emergency boot/bonnet release, and found this instruction that read, do NOT push the orange tipped lever on the trunk latch mechanism and close the latch or you will not be able to unlock the trunk with the key, the fob or any trunk release button. Or words to that effect. I don't know that much about Jaguars, having only entered the world of Jaguar ownership in July. I like this world. It presents me with many challenges/puzzles that I am told will keep my brain sharp. (Although I am challenging that notion with my daily allotment of Gin. Well, that is a story for another day.)
Can someone please tell me the reason why you would have a button/lever, orange or red or whatever color, that would irreversibly disable the trunk lock mechanism? It sounds like a riff on a theme from any Mel Brooks movie or Ghost Busters.

I await with bated, although slightly flammable, breath.

Thanks,
Dennis

My enquiries when I was investigating how to arrange my idea for an emergency boot/trunk release, suggested that the lock mechanism was a general motor industry one that was also fitted in some commercial vehicles - Ford Transits I seem to recall. As the mechanism was not covered with trim, nor operated by any remote arrangement, it allowed the lock on the rear doors to be locked/disabled only from inside.

Well, now it makes some sense. Bean counters, or parts bin auto making. I did not consider that a Jaguar part would be so universal that it would have come from a (shudder) delivery van.

Thanks,
Dennis

One of the huge benefits that our ageing cars have is that many of their parts were shared with other less prestigious mass produced vehicles and hence are easily available and cheap into the bargain.

Agreed. I would much prefer a still-readily-available-because-it-is-widespread part over a unique-and-impossible-to-find part any time....
