Default Engine Bling!

So, what do you guys think (see photo)? I upgraded the s/c with a larger lower pulley, bored out intake/exhaust ports, and replaced the stock intercooler radiator with a much larger one, all from Eurotoys (thanks Mike). The engine bling is from XKRacer (www.paragondesignuk.com, thanks Tony). All installed by motorcarman (thanks Bob, as always, you're incredible).

Very nice! Do the larger ports give a noticeable bump in power?

mjlaris, what you've done actually looks like a beating heart. REALLY! Heart, aorta, that's it. COOL!

Thanks guys. I also had the wood veneer refinished and the guy did a great job. Some of you may remember that I added door cappings and panels (some liked other thought it too much) but they were a noticeably different shade, which I determined to be the result of sun damage. After the restore, if you didn't know it wasn't factory, then you wouldn't know. I'll do a longer post with more photos when I have more time but for now I just want to say that I am very happy. I do have a few more things I want to do but I am on the order of 90% done with the mods I have planned.

ccfulton, to answer your question, yes; it pulls very hard in the midrange; enough so that the first time I steped on it hard (about 30 seconds after pulling out of motorcarman's driveway) it scared the bejeezes out of me.

Not usually a big fan of this type of upgrade, but yours works very well. Nice job. The oil and water caps are really great.

Suggest you redo the dipstick handle in a gloss red and then it will be perfect.

Jag#4, I have a new dip-stich handle but haven't figured out how to install it on the the "stick" yet. I know it sounds easy but there is more to it that you might think.

Many things on these cars are not as straight forward as they should be.

...and just a reminder, everyone is waiting on more pics. Whole car would be nice too. Inside and out please.

While I generally dislike messing around with the exterior look of the car, I have always admired clean engines with small touches of bling. In fact I have wanted to get billet covers over the shock towers but never had the extra bucks lying around to buy these pricey pieces--but some day.

To say that I was up to my lower lip in things that I need to do, both at work and home, would be a gross understatement. However, I will get more photos up as soon as I can. The restored interior wood came out stunning and I can't wait to show it off as well.

Jag#4, we're neighbors! I'm heading to Chicago for 3 weeks on Friday but when I get back at the end of July, we should do lunch and then drool over each other's babies! Let me know if you're interested.

Default Did something similar also largely Paragon

Looking at yours I really like the color match on your red and the strut brace. I didn't do the chrome strut caps because I had the black ones. This is mine.

Default Two More Shots

This shows what I did with the Paragon covers and caps. Note I have a 4.2 engine so had to change out the valve covers as well which was a bit harder (due to the different vents) than I thought.

I got one of those from Paragon too. Pretty easy, you just cut off the top part of the dipstick handle you have leaving enough for the set screw to hold on to and then push the new handle on and tighten. Pretty easy. Just don't cut too much off. I had mine painted blue (second set of pictures above).

Did you have the heads completely ported, i.e. did they do the bowls, 5 angle valve job and such?
If they didn't, you won't see very much gain, maybe could even hurt your HP and Tq.
