Engine warning light on for no apparent reason
On my 2006 XKR the engine warning light on the dash came on for no known reason, I checked the Engine oil level and the coolant level and both were good. I checked the power steering level which was good also.
In any case I'm stumped, Four years ago the wires to the left side of the dash had broken causing all sorts of electrical problems. I had to solder 18 wires back together which fixed all the problems. So maybe that is the problem but it does not sound like the same thing.
If anyone has an idea, I wouid appreciate it.

have you pulled codes?? You can take it to Advance Auto or Autozone and then can read the codes then post the codes here for best guidance. It will typically be a Pxxx. The P1111 is not a fault code - just means all the sensor self checks have completed. A P1000 means not all self checks have completed. DO NOT listen to what they say is the cause as it doesn't always coincide with what the Jaguar specific codes is
