Default Entered in a car show today

Took the XK8 to a car show today and won best in class. A wide variety of vehicles there maybe 150 cars. Ours was the only Jag there (we must have been in a class by ourselves, hence the win LOL). Here are a couple pics from early in the day before it really got going.

Nice job. I have been to couple of car shows in the Jag. Everybody seems to have a Jag story, or more often, a Jag joke about the poor build quality. I laugh and ask them what they drive. Then say something to the effect that nobody tells jokes about their cars, because nobody cares about them. :-) I say it a nice way and don't insult them.

But moreover, I explain how once you take care of the known problems, like the tensionsers and water pump, etc, the car itself is really quite trouble free. Mine has been a super car for more than two years now.

Nice job on the show.

Congrats, what 'class' were you in? Supersized your pics I'd love to get in a show sometime, think it would be fun.

Good job Dave! I know that it is a lot of work, but is also tons of fun. It is pretty enjoyable just talking about your own, and the other cool cars at a Show. After working so hard to bring your Jag's detail level up, you'll really want to maintain it now.

Thanks Guys! I'm not quite to Concourse level with the ride, maybe with time and more money... But we had a great time!

r0m8470, those are fun...I went to one in Charlotte, check the Regional forums, South. I posted a couple pics there. Lots of exotics were there, Ferrari, Lambo's, etc. Only one other XK was there, a Silverstone edition. Maybe someday I'll get an F355 Spider, in my dreams.

Funny I overheard one comment by a teenager at the show...he said, see that Jag over there, that will blow the doors off most of the rides here, and you wouldn't even know it. Most of the interest in the car were from the women chick magnet?

I also spy a white Camaro with orange stripes. Looks like it was a good show.

I must admit that the Jaguar does look a little out of place. Something about showing up in your Sunday bests to a downtown gym just doesn't seem right. Definitely looks clean and stands out like a god among men (just like it should!)

Good job Dave. Hope you enjoyed yourself and hope you'll venture to more sooner than later.
