Exhaust Manifold Bolt Re-use?
Aloha All,
I'm in the middle of a head gasket r/r and am in the process of re-installing the exhaust manifold to the head (already removed from the block) The Jag shop manual does not recommend reusing the manifold bolts due to a "locking patch". I've wire-wheeled the bolts of any anti-seize and debris and they look fine. Am I missing something here? The bolts are $10 each and I'd like to save where I can.
Thanks in advance!

The only reason for using new bolts in this situation is to get ones with a dollop of thread lock ready applied for you! If you feel competent to apply thread lock to the original bolts, that'll be fine! Not much chance of stretch/failure with a recommended torque of 16 - 20 Nm.
