Is the only way to extend one of these harnesses without having to splice each wire individually? I would love to find a M/F extension but I am not sure if that exists.
BTW it is for the guage cluster that I will be moving.
If you can post some close up photos of any markings or logos on the connectors I may be able to assist with identification, as I often have to do so in the course of my work. But even with sucessful identification, that is sometimes only half the battle, as there are often ridiculous minimum order quantities on these sorts of items.
The alternative, if you have a specialist car audio installation business nearby, would be to see if any of the car audio harness adapters have the correct connector, as car manuafacturers have used a wide range of different connectors on oem stereos over the years. Even if the harness adapter only has one of the two genders you would need, it may at least help with identification if you know what else it was used for.
When I relocated mine, I broke it down and found the unit actually has 2 boards and these attach with JSTPH2.0 connectors.
The clock requires 2 of these connectors and the other gauges use 1 each.
I then kept the main board in the original location without cutting up the factory harness and everything else connects with a harness I made with the JSTPH connectors.
I'm not aware of what the actual connector would be, but if you wanted it to be removeable, you could cut the end of the factory harness and use some 20 pin Stac molex connectors.
So it would be: Factory Harness > molex male > molex female > original connector > gauges.
