Default Fast clicking noise?

Got a fast paced clicking coming from what sounds like the fuse box panel in the dash. Only hear it when I open the door. Might be under the hood, driver side near the front of the door. Doesn't hamper performance or driving. What might it be?

Sounds like the Purge valve valve. It is in the driver's side fender above the wheel well. It is normal for it to fast click...nothing to worry about unless it is so loud you hear it while you are driving or you have an EVAP fault code.

My XJ6 had that sound when I opened one of the rear doors. Turned out to be the relay for the puddle lamp. Next time you hear it look at the bottom of the door and see if the red light is working.

Thank you sir. Sounds like you nailed it. No codes so I'll keep on driving.

Sorry...I was thinking purge valve (that what I gave the location of) and I accidentally wrote EGR valve. Must have been still half asleep. You would have an EVAP fault code if there was a real problem unless the noise bothers you. I corrected my post.

I only hear it when idling with the drivers door open when getting in or out of the car. Never while driving.

Being that the purge valve is part of the emmisions system is the replacement indicated on the TSB still covered by warranty?
