A few quick questions about an 04 Jag options
Hi I've asked about these before but I do have some quick questions about these cars. They are a 2004, packed with options at the time, but I'm not sure if some newer options are available for this car.
1. Auto on lights? Ok, but does it have auto-dim, where it can detect when to dim your headlights if other cars are around?
2. Is there any kind of remote start?
3. The security in these cars, some kind of security system? I'll probably have a garage, but I MIGHT NOT, so I'm concerned about leaving this (or any other expensive car) just laying around in a parking lot. (plus its a cloth top convertable...) So, I'm curious is the security is good enough to keep burglers/vandalism at bay.
4. Are the above options (if there) standard on an xk8, or optional?

My son's first car was a Chrysler Sebring. The top was worn out, so I spent about $1000 to have a new top put on it. He had the new top for about three weeks and someone decided to slice the top to break into his car. For some reason people have an aversion to breaking glass. I would have preferred that they break a $200 window.
When I park my Jag in public I leave it unlocked. If I have anything valuable I put it in the trunk and hit the valet button. Hopefully a thief will try to open the door before slicing the top. An alarm system won't do you any good if someone wants to put a three foot slice in your top in order to steal your $150 radar detector.
