Default First "long" trip in the 03 XK8

Well after all the cooling system hoses being replaced. Fuel rail dampeners capped, all new gaskets on plenum and intake parts, cleaned up TB and Elbow, water pump, t-stat housing and related parts, new shock/springs/bushings for them, new tires all the way around, we took the 03 XK8 for the first real long drive far away from home as apposed to just around town. Took about a 4 hr drive round trip. No issues.
On another subject with it, funny thing when I have taken the car to a few car shows this the adults look at it but it is the little kids that say something about the car, they really think the car looks good, cool looking.

That's great news, gives confidence in traveling. We did a 450 mile round trip first and recently did 900 mile R.T.. Enjoyed the time on the road!

Brg, you deserve a little bit of luck after all you have had to correct on your car. That was bound to be a relief after all this time. Big smile I bet, don't be a showoff. LOL

The front end still bothers me some. Go over any bumps it makes some noises, not related to typical conv cars.

Default Congratulations

After all the work you deserve the reward. Fun eh? We just finished a 2300 mile to the east coast of Canada and my 2004 xk8 was flawless. Looking forward to Great Smokey Mountain Park in September and cruising the Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach.

Good to read a 'driving' thread.
