First MOT passed, cost so far ~ £1100
Kim's XK8 passed its first MOT yesterday, only advisory was a slightly worn offside track rod end.
Bought the car in March with 101,000 on the clock, 9 years and 6 months old, and put on 5k miles since.
Jobs done over the first 6 months, mostly by me
New Falken 452s all round, £624
Diff oil seal £250 (parts plus labour)
Rear offside Hub carrier bearing £150 (parts plus labour)
Nearside track rod end £10
Nearside steering rack gaitor £20
Nearside rear shock bush £15
Rear sill/wheel arch rust proffing, paints underseal etc £40
Window down driver door clatter fix, free.
Rust repair around boot lock, free, done with left over sill repair paint
Trim touch up paint, dorchester grey, £10
Missing engine trim ECU cover, £20
Headlamp fixing bracket repair, free
Alien washer repair, free
Oil cooler replacement, £50
Boot release button, free
All in I am very pleased with that.
Jobs still to do, near side rear wing paint bubbles.

Not an unreasonable total for the work list completed.
If the track rod end is showing even slight wear, it's cheap preventative maintenance to replace it (and have the obligatory alignment check) to avoid scrubbing those new Falkens.
