Hi all - I just purchased a sweet 2000 Jag XKR from an owner in Virginia. The car is in pristine shape, but we're learning fast about error codes, and in fact bought our first code reader on Sunday. One of the basic issues appears to be the coils or the injectors, and I'm trying to find out if an additive, like Lucas complete engine treatment, might help in keepin the injectors and flow paths cleared out. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Well I've heard great things about techronics from injector cleaner from mechanics who say they saw evidence of its effectiveness.

don't expect miracles though. I suppose there is only an upside to adding that brand, others may comment.

Fuel system additives are not much good for solving engine running issues.
The first step to getting some solid help is to read the codes and then post the numbers. A lot of the codes you get are very Jaguar specific and we can give better advise if we no the numbers. If your reader is capable of providing them the STFT (short term fuel trims) and LTFT (long term fuel trims) are extremely helpful in diagnosing vacuum leaks and other fueling problems. Please read the codes and post the numbers.
If you do not know when the last time it was changed you might want to change out the fuel filter. Another good first step also, is to clean the MAF and clean the throttle body. Make sure to use only the special cleaners for the MAF and throttle body. You might also want to clean the connectors on the MAF and throttle body.
One of the most costly methods of trouble shooting a Jaguar is to start replacing parts. It will eat a big hole in your wallet.
