Fixing the driver's side recline system
I have a 2005 Jaguar XKR. I recently reclined the drivers seat waiting for my wife who was shopping. I could not get the seat to recline, so I was stuck almost horizontal driving home. Funny but difficult to do. The looks I got from other cars was not one of approval. I researched the Jaguar Forum for that same problem, and I came across a name of a man who could fix the circuit board that controlled the seat functions. I removed the front seat, which was an epic endeavor, and removed the computer circuit board which is located under the seat. I called him and I drove down to where he lived in San Diego.
He is a genius. spent 2 hours fixing the circuit board which was corroded. His name is Darrell, and his number is 858-649-9090. I returned home, reinstalled the circuit board, lifted the front seat back in place, hooked up all the wiring harness, and crossed my fingers.
Wow! Everything works perfectly!
I have no idea what the Jaguar dealership would have charged, but I imagine I would have to get a loan. Darrell was extremely reasonable, and charged me only $100.00. I am so grateful to the Jaguar Forum for the information.
