Is it normal for the passenger side door mirror to be flat?
Should both mirrors be convex or was it intended for the drivers side to be flat and the passenger side convex?
Thank you
Ray
It is hard to give an informed observation. We have no idea what year make and model you have. There are variations over the life span of the production.
Throw us a bone and tell us what you have.

My UK 4.2S has convex mirrors both sides. Both door mirrors should also auto dim in conjunction with the interior mirror and, of course, have heating elements.
Thanks for the replies ... generally speaking I think they ought be convex on both sides and definatly convex on the passenger side.
There isn't enough viewing angle on a flat passenger side one.
My son's Seat has one of those small round convex mirrors on his passenger side but I've not had any value from it when driving ... The image is too small, and too different to the mirror it's stuck to, to focus on. His car incidentally has the flat and convex mirrors on the wrong side for the UK ... they would be right on a left hand drive car.
I didn't realise they dimmed in conjunction with the interior ones ... presumably you need to be careful where you buy a replacement from for it to have all the features?

I sent for an aftermarket one which turned out to have different dimensions on the backing plate.
The measurements were such that the mirror could be detached without effort ... it could simply fall off.
After an amount of modification it is now fitted and considerably better than a flat one.
If anyone has a similar aftermarket one and need details of the modification please get in touch.
