Foam-like debris coming out of vents.
My XKR has 4 vents / registers within the wood dash that are used for heat, AC, or vented air. One is on the left, one is on the right, and two are in the middle over the GPS screen. The left and right vent have had a darkish green, old corroded foam coming out of them. The foam appears to have been a flat sheet, but by the time I pull it out of the vents with needle-nose pliers it just sort of crumbles. I do believe that this foam is part of the car and not something that came in from out outside. Everything in the car / vent system functions properly. Does anyone have any idea what it is / was?
I had a similar thing on a customers XK, assumed the same as brutal, but it was infact the pollen filter which had never been changed in its life desintegrating, was not a common upgrade in the UK, the guy didn't even know he had one until I checked with Jaguar
I'm inclined to think it is what Brutal says, as it is my understanding that US XK's didn't get the pollen filter from the factory. Can anyone run my VIN for a build sheet to confirm (since it is such a pain to physically check if a pollen filter is present)? Thanks.
I have been seeing this for quite awhile. I'm glad to hear that its not coming from the blend flaps.
You dont have a pollen filter in the us unless a previous owner fitted it. And ive never seen one yet, prbobly because they are atotal pain to install the box and then change filter when needed.
Oldmots, uh yeah blend doors too
