One day the FOB stopped working....took it to Jag mechanic, said it was not the battery, but didn't fix it.
Alarm went off during night, so took to mechanic who disengaged the alarm system, but also seemed to deactivate
the bumper alert [when getting to close to an object...beeping sound is made]. So now no alarm, no beeping, no FOB.
Ideas [other than getting a new mechanic?]

Can't help if we don't know what Jaguar you have.

 

2004 Jaguar XJ8 [bumper alerts stopped working as well as the emergency flashers....but turn signal still function..

 

Suggestions:
1. Ask the mechanic specifically what he did to 'disengage' the alarm system.
2. Get a new mechanic.
