The fog light lenses on my '05 XK8 have a cloudy appearance. Anyone know if this is normal or should they be clear? If not normal, does anyone know how difficult it is to replace them?

 

Mine aren't as clear as the headlight, but is yours worse than this? Not sure how to replace the lenses, but it can't be that difficult once you get to them. Parts, however, may be pricey. Call Ken@britishparts for better pricing than the dealer can give you.

 

I found a lens cleaner at AutoZone and I used it on my Rav4. It did a fair job cleaning. I would recommend taping the painted area or remove the light prior to using it.

 

If anybody sells just the glass lense separately, I'd love to know about it. The early XK and XJ lamps look to be the same, although the lamp body mountings are different. I was under the impression that availability was a new complete lamp assembly.

 

You are correct I had one that was broken on my 99xk8 and had to get the entire light.

 

Yes, I knew that was the deal from Jag, I was curious if anybody had found something else suitable. There was some sort of big Dodge lump truck parked in my driveway once, and I looked down to see some foglights that looked sort of familiar.

 

Now that is a scarry thought!

My '05 XKR also has both fog lights with what appears to be a frosted appearance. The parts books (EPC) does not show any choices and other than yours, I have not seen this on any others. IF one breaks, then I guess I will have to replace both to match.
