Folding door mirrors
Hi all, recently joined forum and found it a mountain of knowlage and good tips, keep up the good work as I am sure there are lots of owners that could do repairs if they could find the right information but put it off "just in case I break it".
Anyway i am recently a new owner of a 2000 XKR, very nice too, as i had been out of the Jaguar fold so to speak for quite a while it was time to return so why not do it in style eh.
It has 1 little problem though the folding door mirrors, they park ok but when returning to normal my left door "passengers in my case" continues to the folded position pointing forward.
As its only a little problem I am not too bothered all it means is I have to manualy place it in the correct position but it would be nice to have it do it itself so does anybody out there have any suggestions that I may try please.
Thanking all in advance

Related to this question--how expensive/difficult would it be to retrofit powerfold mirrors? Is it basically the housing that is change (and transplanting the mirror and body-colored front from my stock mirrors) and plugging in wires that may already be there or is it much more involved?
Thanks,
Doug

Smoke and mirrors?
Hi again,
I think that here in the UK as we are such a crowded place (especially in the city's) and parking spaces are so small it is a neccessity nowadays to make the vehicle as compact as possible so we have these folding mirrors to stop the idiots that think they have enough room to squeeze through smashing them off (I have lost a couple in the past even parked on the road!) But in other places that do not treat car drivers as second class citizans Jaguar in there wisdom do not think them neccessary
