Fuel filter is forward of the driver side rear wheel. It is sort of deep in the wheel well. You need to look around. There is a bracket, and 2 fuel lines. Best to take the wheel off.

Check the inertia switch, too, I suppose (driver side fuse box, side of the dash, when you open the door).

The fuel filter is on the left side of the vehicle in the area under the rear seat pan. I have attached a picture from the tech manual
Follow this link and you can see the steps and photo's for replacing the fuel filter and for replacing the fuel pump.

fmertz makes a good point. Check those things and also check fuse #7 in the boot fuse box and you will also see a set of relays arranged as a tee. You can swap the fuel pump relay with anyone that is the same color.

The drawing in Vern's post #3 makes it look a lot easier to get at than it really is.

+1 GGG, it is a real bugger to find and then replace. But the bracket in the picture will get you in the area.

And +1 on removing the drivers side rear tire to get access. I hardly see how it could be done without doing so. Tough to get your hands in there.

Several folks indicated that very little fuel escaped during the filter replacement. That was not my experience. Have a container ready.

Re: fuel filter replacement. I see several of us mentioned fuel spillage. Don't forget that if you pull the fuel pump fuse while she is idling, the engine will relieve fuel pressure before it stalls, I find you'll then only see an ounce or two of gas will spill from the filter connection.

Hope this helps.

John,

I'm always a wary of this technique. Although it sounds logical and does work, Jaguar advice is never to run these vehicles out of fuel. Do you get any DTC's on the restart after doing it this way?

I too, am not a fan of running a Jag out of fuel. The easier way is with the key off you put a rag over the schreader valve, depress it and relieve the rack pressure.

Vern, Graham, no I never had any codes or problems. Thanks for the heads up though. I wonder if the Jaguars warning is to protect the fuel pump. For folks just joining - if you pull the fuse pump stops as though ignition off, gas tank still full.
