Fuel Pump Again?

Fuel Pump Again?
My 2000 xk8 won't start. It cranks but will not start.
Checked codes and I have a P0442, small evap leak. That shouldn't keep the car from starting.
Checked the Schrader valve and I have no fuel comming out.
Checked fuse and relay and both are good.
Turned ignition key to on position and I can't hear the fuel pump in the first few seconds.
I am putting the car in my shop and on the lift today and will check the wiring to the pump.
It looks like it is the fuel pump. I changed it about a year and a half ago. It was a Denso pump, but I guess after the first time I started the car with it it was a used pump.
I'm going to use a Delphi pump this time.

UPDATE
I've worked the past two weekends and yesterday. Last night was my first chance to get back to the car.
To this point I've gotten the tank out. I had a hard time getting the fuel lines to release from the tank, even more difficult than usual. Apparently when I reinstalled the tank last time the rubber pad that the tank sits on in the trunk had come loose and part of it was in the access opening to the fuel lines. When I was trying to use the release tool the rubber would get between the tool and the tank preventing the tool to to go in far enough to release the lines. After several hours and several choice words, I even added a few new ones to the English language, I got the lines to release. I will use tape to hold the pad in place so this won't happen again.
After I got the pump out I bench tested it by applying 12v to the connector. The pump worked. I then reconnected the pump to the top of the tank but not reinstalling to the tank so I can see if the pump is working. I turn the ignition key to the ON position. The pump came on for about 1-2 seconds. I was thinking that I wasted my time taking the tank out and it was something else.
I reinstalled the pump, using the new pump, into the tank. I put the tank back into the car. Before I completely reinstalled the tank I connected all the wiring and turn ignition to test to see if the pump is working properly. It didn't come on at all. I then unplugged the pump and gave 12v directly. It worked perfectly.
I thinking I have bad connection or a bad wire somewhere. I'm going to go through the wiring to the pump to see if I can't find the problem.
If any of you have any input of what it might be, I'd much appreciate that.

RESOLVED
I started from the tank top checking every connection for 12v as my daughter turned the key on. No power at the connection from under the top. No power in the connector at the top of the tank. I then disconnected the connector from the tank harness and I got 12v there. Seems to be a problem with the tank harness.
Luckily I have a 99xk8 donor car. I took the harness from it and installed it on my car and the pump is now working.
I guess sometimes it takes a little detective work to figure these car out.
