Can someone tell me if I can substitute the LJA2000AB with the LJA2000AC for the fuel sending unit on a XK8 2000 conv?
If not can someone tell me where I can buy the LJA2000AB?

I always use Guadin Jaguar's database online to double check parts cross reference, just like this.

From the part number, it seems both are available, and both should work for the 2000, but the new one is a bit cheaper. Don't ask me why.

beats a phone call JUST to check on what a parts price is, though when ordering, due to some VIN splits, its always best to make the personal call (unless its a no-brainer part )

 

I learned that you the preceding Alpha characters (LJA in this case) must match and that the following alpha letters (AB and AC) represent software versions within the parent part and earlier letters can be swapped with later letters but NOT the reverse.

Thus, you can swap an original LJAxxxxAB suffix with a replacement unit marked LJAxxxxAC. However, an original part marked LJAxxxxAC cannot be interchanged with a replacement unit marked LJAxxxxAB.

You can move down the alphabet but not up.
