Default SeismicGuy, I appreciate those guys

On the XK Forum... It is those people that buy the New JAGUARS that we might eventually own and they ABSORB the 1st- 5 years of carring cost....

Which in some cases can be over $80,000 if you figure the depreciation,,, Finance Charge,,, Maintence and other items...

I approve of that cost hitting them in the wallet rather than me...

After Tax,,, Tag,,, Dealer Prep,,, and all the options my wifes car went out the Dealers Door at @ $123,000.00...

I bought it for $27,000 cash and with 22,400 miles,,,, SO I LOVE THOSE GUYS... My previous owner paid $4.24 a mile to drive the car.... So if I put 100,000 on the car and then JUNK IT
I only pay .27 cents per mile in depreciation...

I do agree that the XK has lost some sex appeal. I love the older generations lines,,, DA COUPE especially...

Count D, I'm assuming that you read Jims comments in the other thread?
Just checking!

I agree with your sentiments. The ONLY reason I sometimes drift over to that section is to see what types of problems/experiences have been occurring with the newer model so I know what to expect if I ever change to one of those. The ability to buy a car that I could never afford new but can afford due to mega-depreciation appeals to me (which is how I ended up with my 2005). When I bought it in 2008 with only 16,000 miles on it and in pristine condition for about the same as a new Infiniti G37 and much less than a BMW 3-series it was a great feeling.

I realized new cars were a suckers game and never tried and never will. Used is always a better deal. Even if I had the $100-110k that a new XKR costs, I'd rather buy one hell of a used car for $110k.

The depreciation on just the cars in my sig would make me sick to be the one to have suffered it.

Yes I did,,, And there is a need for everyone in this world,,, I happen to appreciate everyone I meet... and It is never "Us,,, Them,,, Or ME"

We are one happy Family...

And like every Family we have some that rode the short bus to school...

Thou I can,,, I would never buy a new car when I can buy a vehicle in pristine condition, low miles for 25 cents on the dollar... would rather give that carring cost to my kids then lose it to depreciation...

No one should ever be rude to someone on here or anywhere,,, This car is just a pleasurable way to get around,,, I did not buy the car to compensate for any SHORT comings or because I need an Esteem boost... Bought for the wife because she liked it....

That's what we like to hear.

I wonder how many would agree with that? More than a couple I think.

It takes more energy to hate than to LOVE,,,,

And I need all the energy I have to keep up with the PBTW
Plus she loved me when I drove a Datsun 310 hatchback,,, Brown AND Rusty
