Fuel tank top assembly/interface shared by XKR & XK8?
Is the fuel tank top assembly/interface pictured below shared by 2001 XKRs & early XK8s?
Mine is damaged and there are two 1997 XK8s in nearby pull-n-pay yards.
Thanks

2001 was the introduction of the different fuel pump/level sensor configuration. (From VIN A11051)
You would need a 2001/2002 4.0 XK EVAP flange if you car is the later one with level sender wires in the EVAP flange and not in the back of the tank.

No. The XK8 all had 1 fuel pump, whereas the early XKRs had two. As such the top assembly was different to accommodate for this discrepancy.
Also, the assembly in that picture is for the 4.2 XKR which has a single returnless fuel pump that is very expensive (north of $700) and is again different from both the early 4.0 XKR, the 4.0 XK8 and most similar to yet still different from the 4.2 XK8 which is also returnless (and expensive) but the pump has lower pressure ranges; difference is about 5 psi if I recall correctly.

Especially the EXPENSIVE part! Jeeeeze Louise
I CANNOT pay $700 for a plastic bucket and some cheap hose,,,, and a pump that can be found for 70 - 120bucks... That's just me.
