Question Help! Fuel tank quick disconnects

I've had to remove my fuel tank to replace the fuel pumps on my 2001 XKR convertible.

With some advice on various forums I eventually managed to make a tool to get to the quick disconnect couplings on the bottom of the tank, removing the fuel lines to get the tank out. What a b*tch of a job that is!

Unfortunately I think I may have mangled the tank-mounted quick disconnect couplings as, with the tank back in, I can no longer get the lines to click back into place. I've taken the tank out again for the umpteenth time, and see that the couplings are a steel block with two holes in, with small spring metal clip in each which seems to retain the fuel line against it's seal. They are looking very bent now and I can see they wouldn't work.

Does anyone know if they are replaceable, or whether the whole assembly can be replaced for something better?

At the moment it looks like some pipe clips, rubber hose, and a bodge or two will be needed :-)

Thanks.

Well, I tried a bodge and it worked.

Ford do supply quick disconnect inserts (Autozone, O'Reilly parts, etc.), which are not <quite> the same. However, with a little judicious trimming to get the length of the metal "fingers" correct, I popped them in, and Hey Presto, success.

Now I've just got to work out why fuel starvation is making the engine cut out - perhaps one of those new fuel pumps isn't getting an electrical supply. Ho hum.

Thanks for all those who looked.
