I'll also ad that besides aesthetic appeal, the XK-8 has something going for it on the exclusivity front, which is not why I bought my car of course. Did bit of reading. Seems that for the coupe (I'm excluding convertible for now, as my car is coupe), about 10,000 were imported into USA, maybe half that XKR (need to double check the thread on that subject). But, whether it was 5000 or 10000 XK8/XKR or XKR(alone) coupes improted, further research notes the highest end Lexus (currently hitting, yeah, $80k or so in USA fully features) saw 750,000 imported from 1990 to now.
