gus, i checked it out again and took off the metal plate after the cardboard and i'm pretty sure i was looking at the gas tank with the fuel sending unit right in the middle.... please say theres an easier way to fix this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! job might be a little out of my league, can i do anything else to fix this and will the car run out of gas if the needle reading is off ??????

 

I have the EXACT same issue- starts stuttering showing about 30 miles left, I would be ECSTATIC if all I have to do is pull off the back and remove/clean the sender

looks kinda tough though think i need to pull out the tank to get to the fuel send not sure if i can do it without pulling out tank.sender is on top of tank not in the front LOL what to do now??????????????

 

That sounds like it is tank out time.
