Default gas pedal and throttle cable

I've just thighened my throttle cable (cable was too limp). I now however, have about 3 inches of gas pedal! Ihave a '99' xk8. I moved the cable by turning the bracket attachment to the rear about 3 turns. Wondering why the gas pedal was affected so! Any thoughts?

Hi Mick,

I am sure someone will come along in a moment who knows exactly what is happening. In the meantime, this thread discusses throttle adjustment and might be helpful.:
