Gear selector, red lights flashing

Gear selector, red lights flashing
Hi
My gear selector lights have started to flash/Blink in P,N,R,D. The blinking is only when the mode is Select There are no lights on 2,3,4 (drive light stays on flashing) and sport mode light has stopped (not too sure if it's engaging in sports mode). The car is not showing any errors on the dash and seems ok to drive...
Any advice on the fix will be greatly appreciated

Just done same on mine - 2004 XKR. It was dirty tracks on the linear switch, quite easy to do.
Remove top of J gate, wooden trim, switches, centre console then the linear switch (undo the gear change inner cable to get it out). Clean with contact cleaner and cotton wool buds. Also check and clean all micro switches
Make sure you re-assemble correctly as the linear switch needs to connect to the main mechanism
