illumination in the gear-panel?

illumination in the gear-panel?

hey
have started the interesting task of changing the illumination-bulbs that are blown. so my simple question is; is there supposed to be light in the gearshift panel apart from the red dot indicating what gear I am in? and likewise, the buttons in front? (cruisecontrol and sport)

Afaik only red selected gear light as you stated. And red indicator lights on both cruise & sport mode buttons when 'on'.

Oh yes they do

wow!

seems like a lot of work to get those bulbs changed!
are you sure that the same goes for the 97' xk? I checked the two buttons, and no lightbulbs in them.......

Sorry cant comment on a 97 as mine is a 99 xk8. But I would be surprised if it is different.
