Got a strange issue with my XK8

Have a misfire on cyclinder 8 and a maf sensor issue, plugged in my OBD2 scan tool and the yellow light is displayed on the dash along with "Gearbox fault"

There arent any codes other than those relating to misfire and maf

Car drives fine, just displays gearbox fault on the dash only when obd2 scan tool is plugged in

Any ideas?

 

Have had same issue when i plugged in my scanner, jag tec told me that the use of some scanners are not compatable with our cars.They will still give trouble codes but also will throw false codes, i keep getting no traction stability control. I think we need better scanners hope this helps.

 

It can just be the way the scanner is checking what sort of protocol to use, or when it is scanning for possible tids


Pending on the scanner you have, you can either disable aggressive scanning or set the protocol, for our cars you need to set it to 9141.

If you can select a protocol, use ISO 9141.
