Default Good News/Bad News

Wasting time on the web today and found on RockAuto's site that Monroe makes springs for vehicles - in Europe. Specifically, for our purposes, front springs for coupe and convertible XK's (and other Jag' models.) There must be some sort of licensing issues, etc. preventing them from shipping/cataloging them here. $84 and change each isn't too bad for a curly piece of wire in a flimsy cardboard box these days (seems like it wasn't that long ago a pair would cost ~$50.) What kills me is the shipping - an additional $135/pair! I guess I need to get off my duff and find somone on this side of the pond that's willing to twist a few sets... anyone else interested?

If you need a resource, not in need myself (I don't think I am) but, locally here near Portland Oregon is a shop that twists custom springs for the race car guys. I've got a few friends that have used them and rummaged around in their cast aways a few times myself for other projects.

Welcome to Curran Coil Spring Online

You'll probably need the full spec on the spring you want. I don't know if they would have it cataloged. Of course I wouldn't want to price anything from a catalog that said Jaguar next to it. A custom coil with the exact specs would likely be cheaper...

I'll check if there's anyone down in the Charlotte area that does custom coils for street use. Lots of race teams based there. Might get a pair myself.

19 Miles north of Charlotte off I-77 is Mooresville (RACE CITY, U.S.A) All the Race teams are based out of there in fact they are Spitting Distance from each other...(don't get caught in the cross-fire)... There are all kinds of custom shops there catering to them and others... Might even find a Dyno and a shop to custom tune the vehicle as well...

Happy New Year Everyone!!!
