Default Goodbye !

Time to scratch another itch. In four days, I pick up a 2003 Porsche Boxster S to replace the 1998 Carnival Red XK8 convertible which I have enjoyed since August 2013, traveling 8000 km (5000 miles) in luxury and comfort. It never let me down and always attracted compliments. I will miss it, but I want to try the phenomenal acceleration and road-holding of the Boxster S while I am still young enough to do so. (75 this year)

David, sorry to loose your support old man. Why not bring out the Miata and do some autocross. Nice cars all and like you I have a hard time finding time to drive mine. Have fun and be careful, I like to think my reflexes are as good as they once were, but at 75 this year also, it just ain't so.

Come visit and let us know how you like the new ride. Wayne

I'm 22.. so it's not all old dudes! Though my friends do call me an old man when I drive it. Oh well..

Take care David, and enjoy the Porsche. Welcome back anytime!

David,

Sorry to see you go but it's a pleasure to read that line. I hope the replacement is just as good and reliable for you.

David, nice choice! The Boxer S is a very fun car to drive.

Question, if its not to personal, what did you sell the XK for?

Enjoy the Boxer.

Canada is a totally different market from Florida, so I don't know if the sale price will mean anything to you. I paid 10,000 in Aug.2013, drove 5000 miles, replaced tensioners, had a new headliner installed (mice) and sold it last week for 10,200. I had listed it for 12000 and was trying for 11000. It was in very nice condition, and nobody ever believed that it was 17 years old.

David, I had a 2003 Boxster S for about six years before my XK. You will of course enjoy it, I certainly did. Very different car. If you'd like, I'll be happy to share a few things to pay attention to so as to not be surprised.

Cheers, Mark
