Yes it is, simply assist the top when latching using your hand, and the same for unlatching, this is when the lines are at the upmost stress level.

You can get close to or over 200k+ miles without the hoses going by doing this.

just to be clear, I had misplaced his marvins number after he had fixed my convertible top on my XK8, fantastic job I might add.He was worth every penny.
