Handy hint - where to buy XK8/R dash panel clips
The clips and retainers for the veneer dash panels are prone to break and are virtually unobtainable.
Fear not I have found a source on eBay for both types ridiculously cheap.

20Pcs Bronze Tone Auto Car Dash Dashboard Trim Metal Fastener Retainer | eBay
Note the bronze ones are not as grippy as the oem's and need a bit of tweaking - the black ones are perfect oem replacements
I bought 20 of each for £5.80 delivered!!
